TAI CHI BOB S/T: GP005

Hey. We at Gumshoe Press are proud to offer Tai Chi Bob's self titled Extended Player. This is our first, but not our last foray into releasing music. Some information about the band: Tai Chi Bob "started in the cold dark corners of Nisswa and Pequot Lakes and ended in the armageddon." The lineup was Erik Oseland on lead guitar, Mike Storm on the drums and a revolving lineup of bassists. I believe it was the one and only Nate Nordby playing bass on this release. This disc was recorded sometime in 2002-2003. These are the last remaining copies, after this they'll be all sold out and Tai Chi Bob will be gone forever but not forgotten. John and I still spin "The Man That Nobody Liked" once in a while when we're driving around. These babies are dirt cheap at $3 postpaid, all profits go to support Mike Storm's heroin addiction. Tai Chi Bob broke up years ago.

Tracklisting:

1) Damn Yankees
2) The Man That Nobody Liked
3) Ska Kid
4) Our Future
5) Indifferent
6) Fuck MTV!
7) Keep On Rockin In The Free World (Neil Young cover)

At three dollars, this baby is a steal. Erik's wife is going to beat him when she finds out he's selling these this cheap.

You can hear a preview of three of the songs on the EP here. A video of their recent reunion show can be seen here.

First (and only) Printing: 100 copies
In stock: 8 copies

Later in the year we will be releasing a special, limited edition version of the Bill Cosby Murder Project's debut LP. Stay tuned!

EXIST ONE: GP004

Gumshoe Press is proud to present the first issue of Exist, a zine started and distributed by Erik Oseland. Erik had this to say about it:

This zine was inspired by the local shows that have been put on in Brainerd, MN the past few months, my love of music, and people's apparent lack of good musical taste/knowledge about the current anarchist movement. The main goal of this project is not only to provide the readers with kick ass music, but to give people a starting point into a lifestyle of direct/anarchy.

It's cool, you gotta check it out. There are a lot more pictures then in Gumshoe. Exist is a half-letter foldover, easy to carry around with you. Now for the good news. Erik has agreed to distribute Exist through Gumshoe Press for free! If you want a copy, GP will hand-deliver one to you for free. If you want a copy mailed to you, the cost will be one dollar (or free if you mail us a SASE) for shipping and handling.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next issue of Exist, due to hit the streets sometime this summer!

Previous printings: hundreds of copies
First GP printing: 30 copies
In Stock: 15 starting 5/12

LA FIN DU MONDE: GP003

LA FIN DU MONDE is a journal we found describing the last day on Earth for one man. So we decided to publish it. It may have been a dream or perhaps it came from an alternate universe. All attempts to contact the creator have proved to be futile.

(unprinted excerpt from LA FIN DU MONDE, 4/07)

It weighs in at a robust 22 pages and is available in several different versions. The first of these is the full-color, handbound softcover printed on excellent stock. All of these are made and bound to order. They are very nice. They cost $22.

If you can't shell out that much, there are softcover handbound black and white copies available for $3 postpaid, or $2 hand-delivered. These are also a couple steps in quality above issues of Gumshoe, although the color versions are a really nice product. The black and whites will be a limited run of about ten, with only about seven of those for sale. If you buy a black and white copy, I will supply a full-color pdf to you to read. When the black and white printing runs out I will post a full-color pdf here for everyone to read. But you should really should support GP and buy a copy, nothing beats having one in your hands.

First printing : One (!) handbound color, 17 black and white.
In stock: taking custom orders for color (sold out), 10 black and white.

Gumshoe Two is a 24 page adventure containing two new serialized stories, a new gossip column, the return of that lovable rascal Sam Snakes, fish drawings, and much more. Gumshoe Two took a quantum leap ahead in design and aesthetic. The first run had some margin issues that will be fixed if it is ever reprinted. We have only a couple of copies left in stock but when we are sold out we will consider a reprinting. It is in black and white and costs $1 hand-delivered, $1.50 postpaid.

First printing: 20 issues

GUMSHOE ONE: GP001

Gumshoe is an expression of the joy, shock, and doubt we feel in life. We create it to entertain, to satisfy our impulses and our egos. We put it out because we like giving back to our friends and because we like feeling pressure to perform. This issue was our first step into the land of publishing zines. We are still learning. We make progress every day. We are delighted and grateful when you subscribe to us or buy one of our zines. Not because we make money off of them (we don't), but because we are being heard. Thank you. Gumshoe One is 22 pages and costs $1 hand-delivered, $2 postpaid.

First Printing: 25 numbered issues, 15 hand-painted issues
In stock: Out of Print
